Terms of Service
Last updated: July 9, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of vondo. We've kept them short and readable, and paired with our Privacy Policy they cover everything we want you to know before you start budgeting with us.
What vondo is (and isn't)
vondo is an education-first company. We teach the Vondo Method, a simple, repeatable way to manage your own money, and we build an app that makes it easy to put into practice. The app is a tool: you enter your income and expenses, and it helps you plan where your money goes and follow through. That's it. It does not connect to your bank, move money on your behalf, or make decisions for you. Everything in the app is data you type in yourself.
Educational content, not financial advice
The Vondo Method, the lessons and articles we publish, and the app itself are for general educational and informational purposes only. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and they are not a recommendation to take any particular action with your money. vondo is not your financial advisor, broker, or fiduciary, does not manage your money, and does not make decisions for you.
Any outcomes we describe, getting out of debt, saving more, reaching your goals, depend entirely on your own choices and circumstances. We make no promise or guarantee that you will achieve any particular financial result.
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions, and you use the Method and the app at your own risk. Before making important money decisions, consider talking to a qualified professional who can advise on your specific situation.
Your account
You need an account to use vondo. Each account is for one person, keep your password (and MFA recovery codes, if you turn MFA on) safe. You're responsible for activity that happens through your account. If you ever notice something you didn't do, change your password immediately and let us know.
Don't share an account with other people. If you want to budget together with your partner or family, use the household-sharing feature described below instead, each person keeps their own login and personal authentication.
Sharing a household
vondo lets you share a budget with people you live with, a partner, family members, roommates, without sharing logins. When you create an account, we create one household owned by you. From the Households section in your profile you can invite others to that household by email; once they accept, everyone in the household sees the same accounts, transactions, categories, and budgets, and any change anyone makes flows to everyone else's devices on the next sync.
A household has one owner (the person who created it) and any number of members up to the household size limit. The owner can invite new members, revoke pending invitations, remove existing members, or delete the household entirely. Members can leave a household whenever they want. Owners cannot leave their own household, they must delete it instead.
Every member of a household has equal access to the household's financial data, accounts, transactions, balances, budgets, payees, categories. There is no "view only" or per-category permission. If you wouldn't want a person to see a transaction you record, don't invite them to the household. Members cannot see each other's account-level information beyond name and email (no passwords, MFA settings, linked OAuth accounts, or other households a member belongs to).
One person can own at most one household at a time and can be a member of any number of households. Sharing a household never costs extra, your subscription covers the household, not a per-seat count.
When an owner removes a member, that person loses access to the household's data immediately on their next request; the data remains in the household for everyone else. When the household is deleted, all its data is permanently removed from our servers within the standard retention window, on every member's device, on the next sync.
What you agree not to do
You agree not to:
- use vondo for anything illegal, abusive, or designed to harm others;
- try to break, scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the service;
- resell or rebrand vondo as your own product;
- impersonate someone else when creating an account.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules. If we do, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first when the situation allows it.
Subscriptions and billing
vondo offers a free trial and paid subscription plans (Monthly and Annual). How you're billed depends on where you subscribe.
Through the Apple App Store or Google Play: the store processes your payment, we never see your card. Your subscription auto-renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
On the web: billing is handled by our payment processor (LemonSqueezy); we never store your full card number on our servers. You can cancel, pause, or change your plan at any time from your profile on the web.
In all cases, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you keep access through that date. We don't offer prorated refunds for unused time on a paid period, but if something's clearly gone wrong on our end, write to us and we'll make it right.
What we're responsible for (and what we're not)
We're committed to keeping vondo fast, reliable, and secure. Like any software, occasional hiccups can happen, if something's down or broken, we'll fix it as fast as we can.
Since vondo is a record-keeping tool and not a financial advisor, we're not responsible for financial decisions you make based on what you see in the app. The numbers are only as accurate as what you enter.
If something does go wrong on our end, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you've paid vondo in the 12 months before the issue arose. That's a standard clause, we include it because we have to, not because we plan to hide behind it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be excluded by law, including for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything your local consumer-protection laws preserve.
Your data, our software
The records you create, accounts, transactions, budgets, categories, are yours. You can export them as CSV from the web app at any time, and we delete them when you delete your account. The vondo software, design, and brand are ours; while your account is active you get a personal, non-transferable license to use the vondo web app and mobile app on devices you own or control, and that's it.
If you install the mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's standard end-user license agreement also applies alongside these terms. Where the two conflict, the stricter restriction wins.
Closing your account
You can close your account from your profile page at any time, no questions asked. We may also close an account that's been violating these terms or that's been inactive for a very long time, if we do, you'll get notice (and a chance to export) where the situation allows.
Apple App Store and subscriptions
If you download vondo from the Apple App Store, your use of the iOS app, including any auto-renewing subscription you buy through it, is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) , which applies as part of these terms for the App Store version of the app. Subscriptions bought through the App Store are billed by Apple and renew automatically until canceled, you can manage or cancel them anytime in your App Store account settings.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you're in the EU or EEA, your local consumer protection rights still apply in full.
When we update these terms
If we make meaningful changes, we'll let you know by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and we'll prompt you to re-accept on your next visit. Minor tweaks (like fixing a typo) will just update the "last updated" date. Continuing to use vondo after a change means you're okay with the new version.
