Why this move matters
Typing in a backlog by hand is slow and a little dispiriting. If your bank or your old app can hand you a CSV, and almost all of them can, you can drop a whole account’s history into Vondo at once, so your categories and Reports have real ground under them instead of a half-empty ledger. The same door swings both ways: you can export everything back out any time, which means you are never trapped here. The budget is yours to take.
Do it in Vondo
1. Get a CSV from your bank or your old app. All Vondo really needs is a date, an amount, and a description for each row.
2. Open the account you want the history in, choose Import, and pick the file. Vondo auto-detects the date format and maps the columns; fix anything it guessed wrong, and set the decimal separator if your numbers use commas.

3. Let Vondo check for duplicates. It matches each row against what is already in the account, so a re-import never doubles your history, anything genuinely new is flagged as New.

4. Review the preview and confirm. The new rows come in cleared and uncategorized, ready for you to assign from the Transactions page.

5. To get data back out, open any account and choose Export All for that account’s transactions as a CSV, or, from your Profile, choose Export Budget Data to download everything, accounts, categories, payees and transactions, as a ZIP.

What you should see now
Your real transactions sitting in the account, ready to be given categories, and the quiet confidence that you can pull all of it back out any time you like.
